I'm a 46 year old mom of two teenage girls. I have attended Lorunna's yoga classes for the past seven years. Yoga has been the me time that a working mom lacks and Lorunna has been my weekly inspiration and at times in my life yoga classes have help me keep my sanity in this demanding role in life as a mom and wife. It is not just about the exercises and having a healthy body, but also learning to have ha healthy mind. The greatest lesson I have learnt from Lorunna is "to live in the moment". Thank you Lorunna for your dedication and great spirit and mountain of knowledge that you share with your classes.

I have been doing yoga with Lorunna for the past five and a half years and have not enjoyed anything quite so much. I know that after all her readings on various subjects; I have become a better person to myself and to others. The class is a joy to participate in. When the studio closes for the mid year and the year end break, I am at a loss as to what to do with myself on yoga days missing class is an absolute no, no.

I have been doing yoga for over 10 years now and could not have survived without it. The classes are really enjoyable and there are a nice bunch of regular ladies. Newcomers are always made to feel welcome, some stay and some we see once or twice. I do not think my marriage would have lasted these last 15 years without yoga classes the exercises, the breathing and general advice one receives from Lorunna at yoga. I have followed Lorunna to 3 of the places where she has taught yoga, and The Mana Centre is the best of the lot. The Hatha yoga is great too. I look forward to going to yoga twice a week and would not stay sane without it. I enjoy the physical exercises and stretching side of Hatha yoga, the breathing and meditation side too. I hope to carry on doing yoga well into my sixties and with Hatha yoga one is able to. All of the above comments are sincerely meant and I hope I am a better more relaxed person for doing yoga. Definitely more supple.

I joined Lorunna's yoga classes almost two years ago and have never regretted my decision. After suffering with constant muscle and tendon injuries from too many weights work-outs, I hoped that the yoga stretching exercises would help heal my aching body. It worked!! The moment one enters the yoga studio a sense of peace and tranquillity embraces you and the genuinely friendly students greet one, and within a matter of weeks, they will have welcomed you into their family, making you feel as if they have known you for many years. Our occasional discussions usually revolve around meaningful subjects that help us to make sense of this crazy world we live in, and there is always a witty comment to make us smile and see the humorous side of life.
Even though there are a lot of grunts and groans throughout the classes, Lorunna is always there to offer us kind works of encouragement and we soon appreciate the reason for our burning muscles: Flexible body, flexible mind. The Nidra classes are also something to look forward to. Lorunna's almost hypnotic voice takes the students into a state of meditation where the mind experiences various feelings that ultimately rejuvenate both body and mind through deep relaxation. The meditation classes also bestow a much-needed inner peace upon over-worked minds and help us to cope with the stressful lives that we face on a daily basis. With regular class attendance, one soon reaps the benefits of yoga and starts to see people and the world from a different point of view than before.

Before commencing yoga my body had several rocks that restricted movements and I could not do the simplest exercises. Slowly but surely most of these rocks were removed one by one. Today I can do 80% of all asanas and exercises. Within a few months I will also remove those other rocks. Perhaps the best comment I have received from my Neurosurgeon, who had told me about 2 years ago that I was a very sick patient, is that today he is very happy with my progress, and he asked me what I was doing. When I told him it was perhaps yoga, he told me to carry on with the exercises and meditation. I am a 64 year old male but I still feel young, in body and spirit.

Having practiced yoga for over 5 years, I can truly say it has changed my life. The physical benefits are great, especially as we get older and have aches and pains, but for me the greatest benefits have been spiritually. I have been able to come to a place of quiet and stillness a lot of the time, when life is very busy and stressful, and by so doing, keep things in perspective and bring a modicum of balance and tranquillity to everyday life. Practicing with a group of like minded people, as well as our teacher and mentor, Lorunna, has encouraged me to learn to know myself better and hopefully become a kinder, more compassionate person. Yoga is truly a way of living a union of mind, body and soul. Thank you, Lorunna, for being the teacher at the right time.
