BHAGAVAD GITA  CHAP.6  VERS 44 - 46
By the very former practice he is led on in spite of himself.  Even he who merely wishes to know of yoga rises superior to the performer of Vedic rites. The yogi, who strives with assiduity, purified from sins and perfected through many births reaches then the Supreme Goal. The yogi is deemed superior to ascetics, superior to men of knowledge even; he is also superior to ritualists.  Therefore be you a yogi, O Arjuna

As the year 2010 manifest its diverse reality upon each one of us, may we not only find it interesting but also part of a greater awareness as we approach 2012. May this awareness impress upon us that we are only temporary guardians of this great planet, and in this understanding honor her, by taking better care of her.

The Studio opened after the December holidays on the 18th of January 2010, so we are in full swing.  Thank you for your participation and I hope you experience as much joy as I do in practicing Yoga.

Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 Verse 62-64
“Brooding on the objects of senses, man develops attachment to them; from attachment comes desire; from desire anger sprouts forth.
From anger proceeds delusion; from delusion, confused

memory; from confused memory the ruin of reason; due to the ruin of reason he perishes.
But the disciplined yogi, moving among objects with the senses under control, and free from attraction and aversion, gains in tranquillity.

Yoga having made an resurgence during the last 7years, has emerged as the most holistic form of exercise.  Its efficacy has long been proven, since it is eons old.

However it is only beneficial if practiced with understanding, and not purely as an exercise. The asanas/postures  that is so popularised, form only one leg of the eight that is yoga.  Yoga is not a discipline that should be presented in fitness centres as they invariably only focus on the asanas.

The  postures should be practiced with the aim of having an undisturbed body during meditation.  Over the last 25 years that I have been teaching yoga, I have seen many wonderful things happen to the practitioners of yoga.  It has great benefits on all levels of life, most of all on the mind.  It is from the mind and thought that our lives, however we live it ensues.
